I’m Chin Shen, a Melbourne-based Creative Director. Aka professional overthinker that solves creative problems and makes people feel things other than indifference.
I spent over eight years at Cotton On Group, arriving as their first Copywriter, leaving as Creative Director. In between, I grew the copy function from the ground up, and led a 16-person creative team servicing three regions and 1,400+ stores.
The work I’m most proud of has longevity and legs. Verbal identities that stick. Creative platforms that tap into Gen Z’s cultural codes. Campaigns that supercharge social impact.
I’m an avid dot-connector and follow-up-questions asker. (Like: when’s lunch?) I think creativity is a vast ocean and strategy is the invisible tide. I believe truth is always more surprising than fiction.
Outside of work, I’m enslaved by my 10yo cat Pickles. I hike and I’m not too cool to use walking poles. I collect ceramics on my travels. I like the chaos of improv cooking. Hand me a pisco sour and I’ll solve the world’s problems.
I’m drawn to brands that have enemies. I like projects that bring unlikely collaborators together.
